It is that time again. Time to break out the comfy pants and get ready for football. The year promises to be a good year for many teams. With all of the player moves and player retirements, teams would feel the same as they were last year. One such notable team are the Seattle Seahawks.
Lead by one of the better Quarterbacks in the league, Russell Wilson, they promises to be another pigskin powerhouse this year. Known for a fierce defense, fans can expect a high level of defensive play. With superstars like Richard Sherman, Kam Chancellor, Earl Thomas, and Cliff Avril, opposing teams should be ready for a hardcore battle.
The offense is shaping up to be pretty solid as well. Last year Doug Baldwin, Jermaine Kerse, Luke Willson, and Tyler Lockett gave Russell Wilson some dangerous weapons in the passing game. The biggest difference for the Seahawks this year is going to be the loss of Marshawn Lynch. Christine Michael will have some big, powerful shoes to fill this year as he steps into the spotlight where Lynch once stood.
Regardless, I feel that it will be another solid year for the Seahawks as they coast into the playoffs. So far, the preseason has given Seattle Seahawk fans a lot to look forward to. And let’s not forget that Seattle’s home field advantage is one of the best in the NFL. Now, on to predictions.
As the season kicks off, the Seahawks fill find themselves pitted against the Miami Dolphins. I can’t think of a better team to allow the Seahawks to get their feet wet in the regular season. I see Seattle emerging victorious in this contest. This will be a good game for the running back, Christine Michael, to strut his stuff. The Dolphins aren’t really known for a good run defense and I predict the Seahawks taking full advantage of this.
The next three weeks should be equally easy wins for Russell Wilson and team. It isn’t until week 7 where they find themselves up against a team that could pose a problem. Week 7 has the Seahawks against the Cardinals, and if last year is any indication of how they will play this year, this could very well be the first Seahawk loss of the season.
Then going into week 8 will prove another difficult game as they face off against the Saints. Saints are a solid team if they fire on all cylinders. I predict this is going to a narrow victory for the Seahawks.
Week 9 will be a reprise from tough teams and the Seahawks should win easily against the Bills.
Week 10 had them facing the dreaded Patriots, I do not see things going well for Seattle in this game and will probably be loss number three.
After Brady and Pats, the Seahawks should coast through week 11 and 12 until they come up against another solid team in the Panther’s. I am calling loss number four here and another loss against Aaron Rodgers and company in week 14.
They should win out the rest of the season putting them with a final record of 11 – 5.
This should be a good enough record to get to the playoffs. Depending on how the brackets end up being laid out, the Seahawks could have a chance of returning to the Superbowl this year. Fans should take comfort in the fact that the Seahawks will be a force to be reckoned with this year.
